In the eighth and final volume of Arthur Curry's NEW 52 run, Aquaman must juggle a new threat to the worlds above and below the sea, as well as creating a new Atlantean Embassy on the surface.
Atlantis belongs to Arthur, and his ties with Amnesty Bay keep him connected with the surface. In an attempt to quell mistrust on both sides, Arthur builds Spindrift Station, the first direct Atlantean connection with the surface in centuries. And who better to lead this new endeavour than his beloved wife and Queen, Mera, now formally recognised as AQUAWOMAN.
Relations between the above and below sea seem to be heading in the right direction, until the mysterious DEAD WATER appears. A creature without any recognisable link to anything, Arthur must halt the threat before it undoes any good relationship between Atlantis and the surface before it can even be built.
Pulling to a close with ease Aquaman's story within the New 52, this book also contains a look at AQUAMAN: REBIRTH #1. Out of Darkness' artwork is as stunning and as consistent as it has been throughout this run of stories, and the writing, as ever, has made for a smooth and interesting read.
