Beautifully written YA that explores male teenage friendship and romance in a thoughtful and nuanced way. It's almost poetic and depicts a truly lovely and emotional story. As a bonus, the parents of the protagonist don't exactly fall into the classic clueless / uptight immigrant parent trope and I appreciated those characters a lot.
Benjamin Alire Saenz is an American Book Award-winning author of poetry and prose for adults and teens. His first novel for young adults, Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood was an ALA Top Ten Book for Young Adults and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. His second novel for teens, He Forgot to Say Goodbye won the Tomas Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award and the Southwest Books Award (Border Regional Librarians Association) and was a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age. A former Wallace E. Stegner Fellow in poetry, Saenz is a professor in the creative writing department at University of Texas, El Paso.

Guaranteed, tracked and signed for, next working day* courier delivery. Order before 17:00 Mon-Thursday and receive your book the next day (excludes Saturday, Sunday & public holidays). Our courier delivers between 08:00 and 19:00.
*Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands usually receive a 2-3 working day service for First Class. For Tracked Courier, it’s a 2 working day service and you need to order by 15:00.
