I fainted & Broody caught me
As soon as I opened my mailbox and saw this book, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I gazed into Broody's deep, soulful eyes, catching a fleeting glimpse of the true feelings behind his swoon-worthy smirk. If he had a heartbeat, I knew it would be beating in time with mine. Broody, and only Broody, could teach me how to be a main character...
But seriously: I really enjoyed this book. It was funny while also providing legitimate writing advice, and while I felt some of the "serious" parts were a little cheesy/eye-rolly, I do appreciate the author using her platform to encourage the creation of more diverse stories. The illustrations are fabulous, too -- I wish there were more of them! I especially loved the map of the Fandom.
My main (only?) complaint was that the "plot" felt a little disjointed, but I think that was an acceptable sacrifice to turn this into a really great writing-manual-slash-inspirational-speech.
