New in Paperback. The Douglas DC-3 Dakota revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Because of its lasting impact on the airline industry - and in particular the part it played in the Second World War - the 'Dak' is widely regarded as one of the most significant transport aircraft ever built. Using the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's ZA947 as its centerpiece, Douglas DC-3 Dakota Manual describes the Dakota's rugged anatomy and examines its operation from the viewpoints of its owners, aircrew and engineers.

Built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the 707 narrow body jet airliner first flew in 1957 and entered revenue service with Pan American World Airways in 1958. Versions of the aircraft have a capacity from 140 to 219 passengers and a range of 2,500 to 5,750 nautical miles. Developed as Boeing's first jet airliner, the 707 is a swept-wing design with podded engines. Although it was not the first...
The Airbus A380 is the world's most recognised and most talked about airliner since the Boeing 747 and Concorde appeared in the skies in the late 1960s. Designed to challenge Boeing's monopoly in the large-aircraft market, it made its first flight in April 2005, entering commercial service two years later with Singapore Airlines....
The eight-engine Boeing B-52 Stratofortress jet was the USA's first long-range, swept-wing heavy bomber. It began life as an intercontinental, high-altitude Cold War nuclear bomber. In this title, the author recalls its history, gets up close to look under the skin of B-52, and talks to the flight crews and maintainers of this legendary aircraft.
