A Both Sentimental and Dark Read About Redemption
I quite enjoyed reading this book. The main character is a troubled person, with a sad past and I found myself feeling quite sorry for her and wondering what she wondered, about what her future may be like, hoping for a clearer outlook etc.
It is a sentimental read in part but it is also a somewhat dark read as well. Its probably not an ideal read if your in a very low state but I found it to be an eminently redable read. I found myself feeling quite compelled to read the last few chapters as quickly as I could, to find out what would happen, what with her various partners, family issues and so on. I wouldn't call it a pure 'chick-lit' type of a read - I imagine some people may write it off (so to speak) as being a bit cheesy and I accept there are some parts of the plot that are a little cheesy but overall I found it an intriguing and even somewhat immersive read, with some surprising twists to the plot.
