This is a fast, light read.
I read the second instalment in this series first so this story didn’t hold a lot of mystery for me yet it was still well done. I liked First Frost better overall, though.
In this story, I cannot stand Claire. She’s rigid, dense and a bit of a simpleton. Her character was frustrating and so juvenile it was almost embarrassing.
Sydney, on the other hand, was strong and courageous. I didn’t care for her character in First Frost but she was a lot more likeable and genuine in this story.
Bay was just as charming in this book as the second. She is still my favourite.
This was a bit heavy on the “romance” for my taste. I think that was part of why I didn’t enjoy it as much as the second instalment. The romance adds almost makes this “sickly sweet” and, personally, that’s not my cup of tea.
I’ll be interested to see if there are any more books to come!
