Go the Fuck to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don't always send a toddler sailing off to dreamland. Profane, affectionate and refreshingly honest, it captures the familiar and unspoken tribulations of putting your child to bed for the night. Colourfully illustrated and hilariously funny, this is a breath of fresh air for parents new, old and expectant.*
*(You probably shouldn't read this to your children.)
Go the Fuck to Sleep Hardback edition by Adam Mansbach
This one really depends on your sense of humour. I thought I had a decent sense of humour but this book really wasn’t for me. I purchased it with new parents in mind; I thought it would be’ silly funny’ but I found it too harsh. I don’t think many people would talk about a tiny newborn baby in this way so I would suggest this book is a more suitable gift for parents of a particularly naughty toddler, after a few years of no sleep and naughty behaviour they will probably relate better to the tone and find it funny!
Half amusing, but extremely redundant. Honestly the title is half the book on repeat! But any parent can also relate to the feeling it shares. Perfect for anyone who has ever tried to put a kid to sleep when the don't want to. Also a fun gift idea for soon-to-be or new parents or a night-time babysitter.
