Useful text guide for GCSE Macbeth
This is a good text guide for Macbeth. It gives character profiles, information about context, how plays work, more background detail, Shakespeare techniques and analysis of every act and scene. I like the character profiles and background information because they are very detailed and informative. It also gives a lot of useful tips throughout the book. I like the fact that a generous handful of practice questions and worked answers are given, and the fact that the book links a lot of ideas back to the context. Furthermore, the plot summary is useful and beneficial just to reinforce your knowledge of each and every one of the scenes in the play. In addition to this, I love the cartoon at the back of the book to really summarise the whole play into a funny way. On the other hand, I feel like that some more detail could definitely have gone into the analysis of the scenes as they were lacking some annotations. Overall though, it is definitely a good idea to pick up this book if you are studying Macbeth.
