Catherine Coe has worked as an editor in children's books for over ten years, giving her a wealth of experience. She makes her writing debut with the brilliant Kid Cowboy series.
Jan McCafferty is the talented illustrator of Pirate Small in Big Trouble for Oxford Publishing and the wonderful picture book Monsters Not Allowed (Scholastic), plus many titles for Watts. She lives with her husband Steve and two daughters in Manchester.
Greg's mom has a vision of "family togetherness" that really doesn't sound a whole lot of fun. But there's a brand-new addition to the Heffley family to contend with and it looks like Greg might be outnumbered. It could be a real dog of a summer...
Greg Heffley is in big trouble. School property has been damaged and Greg is the prime suspect. But the crazy thing is, he's innocent! Or at least sort of. The authorities are closing in, but then a surprise blizzard hits and the Heffley family is trapped indoors.
Greg Heffley's on a losing streak. His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has ditched him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance.
Imagine all the Wimpy Kid laughs you've had from reading the diaries, all the best bits you talk about with your friends and all the cartoons of Greg Heffley you've had a go at drawing yourself. Now imagine it all - on screen. This title tells the story of Greg Heffley from the cartoon character ever, to a real live person on the big screen.
This was Mom's idea, not mine. But if she thinks I'm going to write down my "feelings" in here or whatever, she's crazy. The only reason I agreed to do this at all is because I figure later on when I'm rich and famous, this book is gonna come in handy. But for now I'm stuck with a bunch of morons.
Whatever you do, don't ask Greg about his summer vacation because he definitely doesn't want to talk about it... It's a brand-new year and a brand-new journal and Greg is keen to put the humiliating (and secret!) events of last summer firmly behind him.
