I've become a bit of a fanatic on notebooks. Maybe even gone over the top on them. However, I have settled into a system that works for me, at least for a while. I use the cahiers for day to day to do's when I am out. Maybe even write thoughts to remember. The ideas are then transferred to my large Moleskine hardback. Some people think carrying around the hardback and using it for everything works but, for me, it's just some big thing to carry around. The hardback stays in my home or office. The small cahiers are...small. And I don't care if they get messed up a bit. They can take it. So they go out with me. They easily fit in a jacket pocket or back pocket. Yes, I could just add things to my phone but sometimes paper and pen do the job much more efficiently. The one thing you really have to watch out for on these cahiers: DON'T forget them in your back pocket because you'll throw the pants in the wash and when you open the washer (or dryer if its made it that far), little pieces of your earth shaking thoughts have been sanitized and destroyed. What a mess.
