Brilliant resource for any DM
Like the other books for 5th edition, the presentation, artwork and information supplied in the Monster Manual are top-notch. Not only is the artwork pretty and visually stimulating, they also give a dungeon master a solid footing for descriptions, which is absolutely vital for an engaging game.
The information is well-presented in a logical manner, making it easy to locate statistics, attack information, and even information useful for general interaction. The entries in the book cover a huge array of creatures, from enemies to NPC style characters like Treants and Dryads. I was also really impressed with the basic Beasts information. Now even common creatures like boars and badgers have their place with appropriate stats. (Particularly useful for the Druid's Wild Shape.)
My only gripe is that the delivery from Wordery damaged the front of the otherwise unscathed hard cover, leaving a small hole at the front of the book...but the content itself is absolutely brilliant as a resource.
Highly recommended and works alongside the DM's guide to give you all the information you need for fun and engaging encounters, while the artwork stops it from being a chore to trawl through the info.
