An edition for collectors, but perhaps not kids
I have been trying to introduce some 'classic children's literature' to my kids' already over-stocked bookshelves, so Classics Reimagined by Rockport seemed like a perfect place to start: a collaboration with artists to offer a very funky collection. Whilst some of the series looked a little scary/intimidating for younger readers, I thought Zagnoli's Oz would be a hit.
Honestly, I was wrong. This is a very cool edition- Zagnoli's simple graphics with a limited green/black/white/gold palette would be appreciated by teenagers or adults, but my son just didn't get it and it didn't hold his attention. So if you are looking for a book for CHILDREN, look elsewhere, but for older readers with an appreciation for design elements, this will be right up your street!
