Snuggle up for an easy read with beautiful illustrations
Although a little repetitive, I enjoyed this book as a late night read, snuggled up in bed. The concept of hygge is pretty easy to grasp - and could undoubtedly have been covered more concisely - but Miek Wiking's style is light and humorous; there are recipes to try and instructions on how to make a woven paper heart decoration. However the greatest joy of the book is its presentation. It is a very neat little hardback with a beautiful cover, which feels very nice to hold. (The book itself helps to create a feeling of hygge, so we'll done the designers!) The cover gives a hint of the type of illustration you will find between each chapter and wherever else graphics can throw light on a topic. The photos are equally good. I particularly liked the full page and double page ones on a variety of hygge related themes. Happy reading - but make sure you get the physical book. You would lose much in terms of the illustrations if you opted for a digital format.
