The Little Girl In The Radiator Paperback edition by Martin Slevin
The beautifully honest account of such a heartbreaking disease
I seen this in the library during dementia awareness week and came home and ordered my own copy. I'm sure my dad could have wrote this book! After being my grandad's carer during his illness, there was so many things I could relate too. I never really read books but I honestly couldn't put it down! Would definitely recommend to anyone, its told in such a way that you want to carry on reading it and although its a sad one, its also beautifully told. Currently debating reading it again!
Affected indirectly by Alzheimer's - then read this
I bought the paperback having read the Kindle version (hard to share a Kindle!) so my wife could read it. This book describes the funny moments, frustrations and despair associated with Alzheimer's. It really does make both a good read and provide an insight based on experiences. This book should be issued to all families impacted by Alzheimer's. (Usual excellent service from Wordery, as an aside.)
The story of one man's attempt to understand Alzheimer's disease as its progression slowly changed the personality of his mother. This is the hillariously funny, and often heart-breakingly sad story of a family's fight against dementia. A tale of love, joy, humanity and despair that will make you want to laugh and cry at the same time. This true story is full of wonderful characters, the Whistling...
